Meet Megan Goss
Megan began her experience in dog training by learning and helping with her father in training his police canine. Megan started her training career off by becoming a certified Area Dog Trainer and Behaviorist with Petsmart in Union Gap, and worked there for over a year and a half. Not only teaching group classes but also teaching one on one sessions. Helping owners and their pups with behavior issues such as reactivity, resource guarding and fear based reactions. Megan then went on to work for the Yakima Humane Society as a Humane Animal Control Officer, certified through the state of Washington. Megan also helped with the behavioral cases inside of the shelter as well as assessments of behavior for court cases. Megan than moved on to become the City of Sunnyside’s first hired Animal Control Officer. Now Megan is a 9-1-1 telecommunicator for Yakima County, and dispatches and trains dogs full time. Megan also has completed her American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluators courses and is now a certified evaluator for trick titles, CGC titles and STAR puppy classes, as well as the American Kennel Club Temperament Test. Megan has completed the American Society of Canine Trainers International 3 week handler class and is now an associate member.
You may also see Megan compete with her own dogs in different events such as AKC Rally, Obedience, and Confirmation. Megan is also training in French Ring (bite sports) as well as Search and Rescue.
Megan hopes to one day open a full training and boarding facility in the Yakima Valley.
